The Musculoskeletal Centre
The Musculoskeletal Centre in Sutton was set up in April 2005. it has helped reduce hospital waiting lists and patients can gain advice on their course of treatment from a specialist, without having to wait for a hospital appointment. The centre has a range of expertise, consultants and other professionals who treat patients with a wide range of muscle and joint problems.
David Hudson, 65, a patient at the Musculoskeletal Centre commented:
"I hurt my shoulder while I was gardening at home. It was really painful and I couldn't move it very much, and found it difficult to pick things up. I went to see my local doctor and they referred me to the Musculoskeletal Centre straight away. I was able to make an appointment at a time that suited me. The doctor diagnosed my condition and gave me injections to treat the pain straight away and I'm now on the mend. I find it much easier to visit the centre than to go to one of the bigger hospitals. It's brilliant that I can be seen so quickly by a specialist as well."
