The Local Care Centres
The Better Healthcare Closer to Home team is currently developing proposals for developing four Local Care Centres in Sutton and Merton. They are likely to be located at Wallington, The Wilson Hospital, The Nelson Hospital and St Helier Hospital.
The Local Care Centres will make it easier for people to get the healthcare they need outside a hospital, closer to home. They will provide a range of services including:
- GP services
- Out-of-hours services
- Diagnostics such as x-ray
- Ultrasound and blood testing facilities
- Facilities to perform minor operations
- Other health related services (e.g. dentists, opticians, pharmacy)
- Social services and voluntary services
